  • Boat 4 sale
    Hi

Selling my Wavesport 64X – Bright Green and gorgeous.

Bought it in September and love it but Greyhound wants to charge me $300 to ship it to BC for the summer. Going to buy the exact same boat once I get to Van Isle. It’s awesome and the best part is it isn’t a Jackson!

    $800

    Mike

  • Lantz Falls
I went to scout out Lantz Falls on Solomon Brook. The on line pics make it look very runnable. The pool below is plenty deep according to the people who live near it. The lead in is not pretty. Well, it’s pretty, but not great for getting lined up.

Maybe with a lot more water, it would be better.

  • "Man presumed drowned after canoe overturns" (today’s The Chronicle Herald)
Man presumed drowned after canoe overturns
    May 6, 2012 – 7:54am By THE CHRONICLE HERALD
    UPDATED 5:50 a.m. Monday

A 41-year-old man was presumed drowned after a canoeing accident Saturday evening on Spectacle Lake, near East Chester.

Lunenburg County RCMP began searching for the missing man after a 911 call at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, the force said in a news release early Sunday.

  • St. Andrews River (Colchester Co.) today
Two of us had a neat trip down the lower St. Andrews River, maybe 10 km starting near the Town of Stewiacke at the end of –you guessed it– St. Andrews River Rd. We finished about 10 km downstream at the Hwy. 224 bridge, within sight of the Shubenacadie River.

We knew the water level would be low, as it has an on-line flow gauge, which today read 1.62 m. We had to line our canoe through most of the gravelly riffles, but enjoyed all the stillwaters. We portaged the massive log jam on river right, but there were a few more fallen trees blocking the river just below the big jam.

We plan to meet along the old # 2 Highway in front of Ski Wentworth at 9:30 am on Saturday.Weather forecast is good.Bring lunch, drinks, snacks, and note PFD’s must be worn by all! There is some construction (repaving) prior to our meeting place,so expect minor delay. The paddle is about 4 hours. The put in is at the green steel bridge, which is about 10-15 min from Ski Wentworth along the # 2.The shuttle toand from the take out is about 10 min. each way.Any questions 902 673 2917
